Jose Mourinho has cleared the air and is apparently happy at Roma and has no intentions of entertaining any offers from Paris Saint-Germain, who are keen for the Portuguese coach to replace incumbent Mauricio Pochettino.
The Ligue 1 giants are allegedly set to part ways with the Argentine, who has apparently lost the backing of the board after their shocking Champions League defeat to Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of this year’s competition.
Pochettino had successfully navigated the club to Ligue 1 success last term but that’s fallen well short of the expectations of the PSG board, for whom nothing is more glorious than winning the Champions League trophy for the first time in the club’s history.
This is supposedly what has led the French side to consider Mourinho as their next boss, with the current Roma manager leading the race to replace Pochettino, especially after the two-time Champions League winner won his fifth piece of European silverware last month when he guided Roma to Europa Conference League success.
However, Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Mourinho is happy in the Italian capital and is ‘more committed’ than ever to staying at the club, which is of course a blow for the Parisians, who will now likely consider an audacious attempt to kure Antonio Conte away from Tottenhan if they fail with their current bid for Mourinho.
As an interesting aside to these latest developments, former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane’s desire to join the club has allegedly cooled in recent months, particularly after Kylian Mbappe was handed unprecedented power to dabble in crucial club matters beyond the pitch after his recent contract extension.
