Man Utd fans slam disconnected Erik ten Hag for ‘taking the p***’ on them with ludicrous statement after Burnley draw

Erik ten Hag has again come under the spotlight again and irked supporters with an odd statement released after the match after Manchester United were held to a lackluster 1-1 draw by Burnley at Old Trafford.

United fans were left aghast by manager Ten Hag’s spewing praise on his side after their drab draw at home against a feisty Burnley fighting hard to escape relegation.

The Dutchman’s motley crew again stumbled as they conceded yet another late goal that ended in their being held to a 1-1 stalemate against the relegation-battling Clarets. This situation ensued after a totally mystifying moment of insanity from an otherwise brilliant Andre Onana that resulted in Zeki Amdouni snatching a late point from the penalty spot for Vincent Kompany’s side.

Ten Hag and his players were booed off the pitch by the furious Old Trafford crowd. Yet, after the game, the ex-Ajax manager tried to put a positive spin on his side’s lack of control.

“We are one of the most dynamic and entertaining teams in the league at this moment,” Ten Hag actually told BBC Match of the Day.

“We are creating loads of chances by playing good football. Every team gives up opportunities. But when it is up to us, it is weird.”

Obviously after considering the reaction his comments have had on social media, United fans are clearly not convinced and feel he is taking the p*** out on them .

“He’s taking the p*** at this point,” one irate fan said.

“The bloke is so disconnected from reality it’s a concern,” a second laughed.
