Sergio Ramos tells Real Madrid team-mates he’s joining Paris Saint Germain

Sergio Ramo, one of the best defenders in world football ever, has told his Real Madrid team-mates that he will be joining Paris Saint-Germain , according to reports in Spain.

Ramos is bidding adieu to Madrid on a free transfer this summer after an incredibly successful 16-year stint in the Spanish capital. The stalwart defender and Los Blancos skipper has been heavily linked with Manchester United, AC Milan, Chelsea and PSG since the final quarter of last season since rumors emerged then of his patchy relationship with club president Florentino Perez for various undisclosed reasons.

But according to Spanish radio station Cadena Cope, Ramos has told three of his Real Madrid teammates that he is making a beeline for PSG this summer, with the report further claiming that Ramos has already accepted PSG’s offer and rejected approaches from other clubs, including Manchester United and Chelsea.

French juggernauts PSG, meanwhile, are believed to be intent on adding a much greater depth of experience to their back line after losing Thiago Silva to Chelsea on a free transfer last year.

The Parc-des-Princes club are also allegedly interested in Raphael Varane, who is also wanted by Manchester United, which comes as no surprise.

Finally opening up on his situation last week, Ramos revealed he was adamant about wanting to remain at Madrid and pointed a finger at the club, accusing them of taking away their offer of a contract renewal.

“I’ve never wanted to leave,’ said Ramos.

“The club offered me one year, with a drop in salary. I wanted two years, not for the money, for continuity for me and my family. The economic issue was never a problem.

“Then I decided to accept the offer that I thought was on the table, of one year, but I was told that the offer wasn’t there any more.

“They told my agent that the offer had expired a week ago. The truth is I don’t know why the offer expired, I can’t answer that. There was a negotiation and maybe I misunderstood.”
