Luis Suarez could reunite with Lionel Messi as Uruguayan football legend ‘enters talks’ over shock transfer

Former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has been linked with a reunion with Lionel Messi and is reportedly in talks to sign for Inter Miami along with former Barcelona duo Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.

The reports are coming out in quickfire succession just hours after Lionel Messi was confirmed as the latest gift to the MLS following the expiry of his contract at Paris Saint-Germain, with speculation rife and a-plenty surrounding the future of the record Ballon d’Or winner with suggestions that he would make a fairytale return to Barcelona – a club where he had enjoyed the bulk of his success.

Numerous discussions had also been ongoing over a move to Saudi Arabia after Karim Benzema’s switch to the Middle East following the end of the Frenchman’s illustrious career at Real Madrid.

Suarez had enjoyed a stellar stint spell with Liverpool in the Premier League and has been with Brazilian club Gremio since departing LaLiga. After his return to South America, he has continued to demonstrate he has not lost any of the scintillating quality to perform at the top level as the 36-year-old amassed 11 goals in 24 appearances.

TYC journalist Gaston Edul has revealed that the American franchise, owned in part by David Beckham, are in talks with Suarez, Busquets and Alba.

On Wednesday, the enthralling saga surrounding Messi’s next club was finally sealed as the Argentine confirmed that he would be signing for Inter Miami. He told Mundo Deportivo: “I made the decision that I’m going to go to Miami. I still haven’t closed it one hundred per cent.

“I’m missing some things but we decided to continue on the path. If the Barcelona thing didn’t work out, I wanted to leave Europe, get out of the spotlight and think more for my family.

“I had offers from other European teams but I didn’t even evaluate them because my idea was to go to Barcelona and, if that didn’t come about, then leaving European football after winning the World Cup was what I needed,” he continued.

“Now I will close my career in this country and experiencing the MLS in a different way, enjoying the day-to-day much more – but with the same responsibility of wanting to win and always doing things well but with more peace of mind.

“I am also in a moment where I want to get out of focus a bit, think more about my family. I spent two years at a family level that was so bad that I didn’t enjoy it. I had the month that was spectacular for me for having won the World Cup, but removing that was a difficult stage for me.”
