[VIDEO] Messi and Ronaldo Teammates Before Bowing Out

Two of the greatest legends and players of all time have endorsed their dominance and stamped their irrefutable supremacy in the football universe for well over a decade. Living legends Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are still thoroughly enjoying playing in their prime even as they begin to enter the twilight years of their joint reign. The magic and the indelible delicate touch are still there albeit the pace is a tad slower but no less regal, continuing to delight their armies of loyal fans around the world.

What wouldn’t any football aficionado give to have the once in a lifetime opportunity to see these two supreme megastars pitting their most finely-honed skills and talents not against each other but against mutual rivals while playing alongside one another? And more than once, too. An impossible dream? Perhaps not.

After having dominated European soccer for over a decade, this super dynamic duo reportedly could end their careers by playing for the same club, if a certain equally highly idiosyncratic ex footballer of international fame could have his way and weave his wand to make this a reality. Which he actually is working hard at.

Co-owned by one of the greatest football players of all time, Inter Miami of Major League Soccer (MLS) in the USA are the ones who could most likely bag the dream-attacking duo of Messi and Ronaldo when the stars decide to end their European careers. Inter Miami’s co-owner David Beckham could lure Messi and Ronaldo to the U.S.

It would most certainly be the ultimate dream come true to watch these two quintessential gargantuans forge an allegiance and alliance as compatriots wearing the same jersey to run riot over, and running circles around, all opposing teams. After all, we’ve all had the exquisite pleasure of watching the two battle it out for the tag of the greatest player of all time all these years.

According to the Mirror, Beckham is hopeful that Messi and Ronaldo will end their glittering careers at Inter Miami if he were to get his wish. While it is understood that a plan is already on the drawing board to lure the incomparable duo to the USA, Adrian Heath, the head coach of Minnesota United, another MLS franchise, is insistent that Beckham has the potential to create a dual-pronged attacking duo made in football heaven in his Inter Miami.

“For Ronaldo and Messi, the two obvious destinations if they came to the MLS would be Los Angeles and Miami. And, with his links to both players and the plan Beckham and his backers have in place, I can really only see them going to Miami,” Heath said in an interview to the Mirror.

A lot of things have not been going well in FC Barcelona lately with several rumors seeping through that the end of the current season could see the the unlikely becoming an inevitable – Messi’s departure from his beloved Camp Nou, despite his preference for him and his family to continue living in Barcelona. Messi has himself spoken to the media that despite acknowledging the internal issues festering in the Barceona boardroom, he still considers the club, more so the city, his home and would want to end his career there.

On the Italian end, Ronaldo seems to have settled in pretty well in Juventus and recently even became the 20th player to make his 1000th senior appearance.

But who knows, if that certain David Beckham, celebrated for also being able to bend the ball amongst other things, can actually put together all the pieces of his dream masterpiece, we could actually one fine day get to see Messi and Ronaldo being the greatest all-time football tag team ever.
