Barcelona are currently preparing a new contract extension for their golden player Lionel Messi which due to expire in June 2021, Mundo Deportivo reports.
Report said Barca have already made contact with Lionel’s father to begin talks over player’s contract renewal for up to 2024.
Club president Josep Bartomeu has said repeatedly that Messi will remain at the Camp Nou until “whenever he wants” and his clear objective is to get the extension done.
After winning his sixth Ballon d’Or, Messi seemingly settled with the club, but he has a clause that allows him to leave at the end of the season.
It was also reported that, although renewals of Messi’s contract will take a lot of time due to numerous payment and clauses, the extension will be done by the end of next season.
