Mauricio Pochettino has already turned down Manchester United job and has sights on Real Madrid instead

In-demand PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino has allegedly turned down Manchester United as he is said ot be waiting on his dream job at the Los Merengues.

The popular expectations are that Argentine Pochettino will leave the French giants in the summer to join Manchester United unless he can navigate the Parisians to win the Champions League as the expectations are running extremely high at the Parc des Princes this season.

The Red Devils have all this while been heavily linked with the former Tottenham Hotspur manager but now seem to be facing another battle to get him over as Real Madrid have been turning their lustful eyes on him and are now circling as they consider a replacement for the beleaguered Carlo Ancelotti, who has apparently been losing precious brownie points with president Florentino Perez.

It is Sportsmail’s understanding that Real and Tottenham both failed in their attempts to lure Pochettino away from PSG last summer for various reasons. However the feeling now is that Pochettino will be available at the end of the season and the Los Merengues are still keenly desirous of him replacing Carlo Ancelotti who’s clearly on the wane at the Bernabeu.

Pochettino had also made it a secret that he nurtured a desire to one day be part of the Los Merengues structure, and Madrid president Florentino Perez has also had him in mind to manage the team while he is still in charge at the helm.

The Argentine coach had snubbed an opportunity in 2018 when Zidane left, but the latest news is that he has already turned down Man United in hope of securing the job at the Bernabeu, according to reports in Spain, as the 49-year-old knows that should Ancelotti either fail to win the La Liga or continue their progress in the Champions League, the job could be readily offered on a silver platter for him.

Pochettino and Ancelotti are currently going head-to-head in the last-16 of the Champions League with the French side leading 1-0 after the first leg.
