Georginio Wijnaldum ready to adjust wage demands to seal Barcelona move

Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, long on Ronald Koeman’s radar, has agreed to adjust his wage demands to suit Barcelona’s pay structure ahead of a potential summer move to Camp Nou.

Barcelona repeatedly tried and failed to sign the midfielder last year but with his contract running down this summer, the Catalan giants have positioned themselves to pick him up on a free transfer as there are serious doubts whether he will sign a fresh deal to stay at Anfield.

As it stands, there are apparently claims that he has already agreed on a pre-contract with Barcelona and a deal is well likely on its way between the player and the club. According to Catalan daily Sport, Wijnaldum has agreed to adjust his salary demands to suit Barcelona’s needs, as he is seriously desirous of making the move.

This would be ideal for Barcelona who are obviously struggling to cope with their financial conundrum at the moment and are expected to cut down on their wage bill and hope to raise cash by selling quite a number of players.

The Dutchman’s free agent status would be perfect for them, especially with the midfielder agreeing to adjust his demands to suit the tight ship Barcelona are trying to navigate through difficult times.

Wijnaldum recently disclosed that he would be devastated to leave Liverpool but now seems to be more at peace edging closer to the exit door at Anfield.
