Kyle Walker’s hook-up for a romp behind closed doors costs him dearly

Now, what does one do to fritter away time behind closed doors in the midst of a crippling pandemic lockdown?

Well, for starters, you could tend to your little cosy indoor herbs garden, get going on that cute home aquaponics project you’d always been dreaming of, learn to play the tuba the YouTube way or just get cracking on a zillion other fascinating things that you never found the time in the past before to cultivate your secret passions and indulgences.

Or, if you are a famous football personality with a bit of a problem keeping your hormones in check, and have a penchant for something more amorous to keep yourself physically engaged, you could throw caution to the winds, make a few calls and get a couple of floozies over and have a not-too-discreet romp in the cool comfort of your private digs.

And that was what Kyle Walker did with a pal of his. Apparently news has it that over the weekend that Walker, who plays for reigning Premier League champions Manchester City, and his buddy hooked up with two prostitutes over for a three-hour sex session. It certainly looks like he had a different interpretation of the term ‘social distancing’ in relation to the taboos that have to be maintained in view of the coronavirus pandemic.

For his indiscreet fling, Kyle Walker incurred the wrath of England team boss Gareth Southgate, who was livid anger over Walker’s hosting of the sex party in his luxury flat in Manchester, obviously in blatant disregard for proprietary and precautionary measures during the lockdown. In short, he will never play for England again under Gareth Southgate as The Star has claimed that the England manager will no longer consider him for national squad selection.

Although the Three Lions defender tried to make good for his indiscretion just hours after his partying had ended by issuing a grovelling apology urging his supporters to follow Government advice by staying at home to help ease the strain on the NHS, it was too late to save his skin.

“I want to take this opportunity to issue a public apology for the choices I made last week which have resulted in a story today (Sunday) about my private life in a tabloid newspaper,” Walker’s statement read.

“I understand that my position as a professional footballer brings the responsibility of being a role model. As such, I want to apologise to my family, friends, football club, supporters and the public for letting them down.

“There are heroes out there making a vital difference to society at the moment, and I have been keen to help support and highlight their amazing sacrifices and life-saving work over the past week.

“My actions in this matter are in direct contrast to what I should have been doing regarding the lockdown. And I want to re-iterate the message: Stay home, stay safe.”

The former Spurs ace was integral in helping England secure a place in the 2018 World Cup semi-finals in Russia but subsequently found himself displaced by younger talents like Trent Alexander-Arnold and Aaron Wan-Bissaka in recent squads, with Southgate putting the emphasis on youth.

Southgate has laid down the law after Walker breached the lockdown rules that he will not tolerate any players not toeing the line.

Walker is expected to be fined £250,000 by City for flouting the lockdown rules. Looks like his 3-hour shindig is costing him a tad more than what he had expected obviously, what with also having been shown the exit from the national team.

Stay indoors and go for safer indulgences, folks!
