Manchester United boss hot ‘on Bayern Munich’s shortlist to replace Thomas Tuchel’ after former Reds boss Ralf Rangnick snubs offer

Beleaguered or not in his current hotseat, the latest news is that Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag does not seem to be short on admirers, with the latest club being Bayern Munich keen to hire the Dutchman to replace out-going Thomas Tuches.

The news surfaced immediately after former United boss Ralf Rangnick turned down the Bundesliga giants to commit his future to the Austria national team.  With Tuchel exiting Bayern Munich at the end of the season, several rumors had surfaced surrounding his potential replacement.

The latest reports are that the Bundesliga giants’ search for Tuchel’s replacement has led them to the former Ajax manager, who has been heavily rumored to be set for an exit from Old Trafford in the summer, as new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is rumored to be with potentially looking for a suitable candidate to replace Ten Hag despite the options being limited.

Sky Sports report it is their understanding that Bayern Munich have already initiated contact with Ten Hag’s agent, Kees Vos, to see if the United boss would be open to the move. However, the report also states that no formal talks have been done so far but the Dutchman is aware of the interest.

The indications are that Ten Hag has informed his ‘people’ that his sole focus currently is on the job at hand in England, with his side in the FA Cup final.

Apparently Bayern’s hierarchy believe that despite the topsy-turvy season at Man United, Ten Hag’s coaching has been hampered by a profusion of off-field issues, further exacerbate by a poor operational set-up.

It appears that his excellent work at Ajax and exemplary first season at Old Trafford have interested the Bayern top brass.
