Roy Keane opens up on who he thinks will win the league – Man City or Arsenal

The title race in the Premier League is really heating up now with Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City all in the mix.

Liverpool have taken flight of late, with Jurgen Klopp’s men having lost just one game so far this season, Manchester City have uncharacteristically dropped more points against Aston Villa on Wednesday, and Arsenal are enjoying their perch at the top of the league.

At this early juncture it would definitely take either guts or foolhardiness for anyone to predict the outcome of this title race, and Man United legend Roy Keane was more than happy to give his verdict on this situation speaking on Stick to Football.

The pundit gave his verdict on who will win the league and is still backing reigning champions City to go on and win the title again this term, despite the poor form they have been showing of late.

“I’d still go with Man City, but if I was in Arsenal’s camp and you compare the squad to last season, you’d be more encouraged this year for Arsenal than I was last year, last year I wasn’t budging on City, but this year I’d be a bit more cautious this year than I was last year. I think Arsenal are a stronger squad,” Keane said.

City are still without any doubts the best team in the league on their day, but clearly need to crank up a few gears soon if they’re going to win the title, having now dropped points in four consecutive games. If the slide were to continue, they may have too much of a gap to make up to Arsenal and Liverpool in the new year.

Needless to say, Guardiola and his indefatigable men have proven without fail on numerous occasions that City are capable of just suddenly flipping on a switch and streak off on their crazy winning runs that leave everyone else choking in their dust trails.

This season’s title race is certainly shaping up to be a most fascinating one.
