Former Spain and Barcelona manager Luis Enrique is allegedly open to working in the Premier League with news beginning to circulate in the grapevine linking him with Tottenham lthough at this juncture there’s still no decision yet on who will be the club’s next manager.
It certainly wouldn’t be surprising for Enrique to be considered on of the most likely candidates for Spurs as he’s one of the biggest, proven names currently available, although it still remains to be seen if he’ll definitely get the nod over some other equally hotly-touted coaches.
Writing in his exclusive CaughtOffside column, Fabrizio Romano said there was no update on Tottenham’s manager search for the moment, with a decision expected to come later.
With regards to Enrique’s situation, Romano confirmed that the Spanish doyen is certaibly open to the prospect of working in England next, with the caveat that the project as to be right for him, even if he is eager to get back to work as soon as possible after leaving his previous tenure with the Spain national team.
“There’s no update yet as now for Tottenham is time to explore all the options and then decide the right candidate,” Romano said. They will take time, that’s why there is Stellini.
“Luis Enrique is open to joining English clubs; but it depends on the project, he wants something long-term and not just short-term. He wants to return as soon as possible.”
Tottenham recently decided to finally part ways with Antonio Conte and they need to get their next managerial appointment right after some lamentable choices in that department since the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino a few years ago.
