[VIDEO] Haaland already scored more than 40 goals this season, at the age of 19

Believe it or not, Erling Braut Haaland has scored 41 goals this season, including one that he scored for Dortmund in a 4-0 win against Schalke last week, after more than two months without playing football.

The 19-year-old scored 28 goals for RB Salzburg this season. Since joining Dortmund in January, he has scored 13 goals at the age of just 19, making him the youngest ever player to score more than 40 goals in a single season in Europe.

Kylian Mbappe almost broke the record, but he only 39 goals at the age of 19, during his second season at PSG.

Neymar scored 42 goals when he was 18 years old but he did it with Santos in Brazilian league. He scored 39 goals in Europe when he was 23 years old, his second season at Barcelona.

Cristiano Ronaldo only managed to score 42 goals in all competitions at the age of 23, while Lionel Messi scored 41 goals with Barcelona when he was 22 years old.

Luis Suarez also scored 40 goals for Ajax when he was 23 years old.

Mohamed Salah scored more than 40 goals for Liverpool when he was 25 while Harry Kane reached 40 goals for Spurs when he was 24 years old.

Both Robert Lewandowski and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored more than 40 goals when they were 27, whereas Edinson Cavani scored 40 goals when he was 29 years old.

Antoine Griezmann? The highest goalscoring record was 32 goals, when he was just in a second season at Atletico Madrid.

There are still more matches to play in Bundesliga this season, but Haaland quickly played down his incredible stats.

“I’m not the same [as before the break] yet,” he said.

“I haven’t played for seven weeks. But I know that I’ve worked hard during this period and I’m not surprised that I scored.”

It will be a season to remember for Haaland.
