Not having featured in the Manchester United XI since their 1-1 draw at Chelsea on October 22 almost three months ago, Jadon Sancho has finally returned to his long-awaited first-team training after an intense stint training on his own.
The former Borussia Dortmund winger left for the Netherlands after the Chelsea draw soon thereafter to undertake an individual training program.
Sancho was also not involved during United’s 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace on Wednesday night, and is in all likelihood hoping to find himself back in the squad soonest possible, as would Ten Hag, too.
Speaking earlier this month, the United gaffer said: “I would like to have Jadon back as soon as possible.
“But also in this, I can’t force this process and so I will do everything that’s in my power but some processes you can’t force and this is one of them.
“So I have also to show patience, although I don’t have the patience because yeah, you are right, we have a lack of opportunities in the front line.
“Players who are available and capable to contribute in the Premier League, not only the Premier League but the highest standard of top football.
“And Jadon is one – when he is fit – he will contribute and then we have an extra option and so we will have more chance of winning a lot of games.”
United square off against Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday and, while the match may be a tad too soon for Sancho, fans will no doubt be looking forward to hopefully seeing him back on the pitch before long.
