Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp could be signing his very own Cristiano Ronaldo

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been keeping a keen eye on Adama Traore since their Liverpool-Wolves encounter earlier in the season and news is out that he is pushing to sign the red hot winger this summer after Chelsea look set to beat the Reds to the transfer of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.

The 24-year-old has netted six goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions. Manchester United and Manchester City are also known to be monitoring him with more than just casual interest.

Traore has been a dominant role in helping Wolves to push for a Champions League place this season and superbly acquitted himself against Liverpool back in February, which immediately led to Klopp praising the Spaniard for his physical and playing attributes and is now looking to make his interest more concrete.

He exclaimed right after the February match: “He is unplayable in moments, it’s unbelievable.

“What a player – it’s not only him but he’s so good.”

Reportedly the Reds are said to be keen on signing Traore after being left with no choice but to give up on Werner as Chelsea are set to trigger his £53million release clause this week with Frank Lampard anxious to bolster his attacking ranks to narrow the gap on Liverpool.

Traore’s dynamite combination of pace, power and end product has inflicted extensive damage on rival defenses this season.

The former Spain under-21 international Traore has now blossomed has blossomed into one of the best wide attackers in England’s top flight and if Klopp succeeds in moving him to Liverpool, he has the potential to be to the Reds what Cristiano Ronaldo was to Manchester United.

Alex Bruce is confident Traore would be an ideal signing for Klopp to further boost his squad, telling Football Insider: “It wouldn’t surprise me if someone like him is bought by Liverpool because he’s got such good assets.

“He’d be a handful for anybody to play against and useful for any club to have in their squad.

“The pace and power that he has, I believe it’s the biggest asset you can have in football.

“To have someone with that blistering pace, who can unravel defences like he can and when he takes it on the outside, he’s lethal. I think he could add something to all those teams, including Liverpool.

“We know that they don’t need players to come into the first-team, they just need players who are going to boost the squad and if someone’s going to come in and give them something, obviously not as a regular player but to come off the bench and play when needed, you need a healthy squad at every club.”
