Newcastle’s Tino Livramento on Manchester City’s radar

Manchester City have reportedly made Newcastle United’s right-back Tino Livramento their top transfer target this summer as they seek a long-term replacement for Kyle Walker. The 22-year-old, who previously played for Southampton, has impressed since joining Newcastle in 2023 for around £40 million and has established himself as a key player, helping the club win the Carabao Cup this season and earning a call-up to the England national team.

Pep Guardiola confirmed that Walker, currently on loan at AC Milan, will not be part of City’s future plans, prompting the club to prioritize strengthening the right-back position. Livramento’s versatility, able to play on both flanks, fits Guardiola’s tactical preferences, making him an ideal candidate to provide depth and balance in defense.

However, Newcastle are expected to demand a hefty fee for Livramento, who still has three years left on his contract and is considered a key asset. Reports suggest that the Magpies will not sell easily, with an “astronomical” offer likely required to secure his departure. The club’s willingness to keep Livramento may also depend on their ability to qualify for the Champions League next season, as European football could help retain their top talents.

While Manchester City face competition from other clubs and a challenging negotiation process, Livramento remains their number one target to fill the void left by Walker’s exit, as they look to rebuild their squad ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
