Man United identify dream transfer solution

Manchester United have enjoyed a slightly better, albeit hectic, transfer window than they have become accustomed to in recent years, one that could promise more twists and turns before deadline day as Ineos will still be on the hunt for more acquisitions.

The Red Devils are advancing with their approach for PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte, with the Uruguayan being a top target for United who are looking to strengthen their midfield after a shaky spell for Casemiro last season, according to MEN Sport .

United have put a £5m asking price on Dane Christian Eriksen ahead of the deadline, according to Football Insider. The Dane is out of favour at Old Trafford and is unlikely to receive a new contract once his current deal expires. Pursuant to this, Ajax have been linked with him previously but this deal now looks unlikely due to the Amsterdam club reportedly needing to make sales before they could afford him.

MEN Sport says: “While Eriksen is a player United want to sell, there is clearly a reluctance from the Dane to move on. He told reporters during the pre-season tour that he is committed to seeing out the remainder of his contract in the Premier League. Bringing in £5m for the midfielder would be a boost for the Reds considering they brought him in for free after his Brentford contract expired and a departure appears to be the dream solution for all parties at this point, with Eriksen not expected to feature much for United this season should he stay. Gaining a profit on him before the window shuts would be seen as excellent transfer business.

Chelsea are also known to have offered Ben Chilwell to United in a bid to get him playing time this season, according to talkSPORT, as the left-back is thought to have been offered to the Reds to help deal with their injury worries in that position.

Chilwell was apparently free to look for another club having suffered his own injury problems recently, according to an announcement made by Enzo Maresca on Wednesday.
