Zidane: Real Madrid should have won El Clasico

Real Madrid achieved a goalless draw against a Barcelona at Camp Nou for the first time in 17 years, but even with that Zinedine Zidane is not satisfied.

He is happy with the performance of the players as Real managed 12 shots in the first half, the most they have managed in any away game against Barca since 2003-04 season, but they could not find a breakthrough until the end.

Gareth Bale saw a goal correctly disallowed for offside in the second half, as both Barca and Madrid level on points in LaLiga.

“The result isn’t good enough for me. We could’ve done something more, but that’s football. “We have to be happy with the match because it’s against a very good opponent.”

“If you have chances, you have to score them, and this is what we were missing in certain instances. We played a serious match, we were focused for the 90 minutes. It was a good Clasico, a good football match. It only lacked goals.

One of the suprising moment in El Clasico is the inclusion of Gareth Bale in the starting eleven and Zidane is happy with his performance.

“Everyone played well but Bale hadn’t played much and he had a great game.

“Kroos and Fede Valverde in his position, Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos, everyone did well. The team put in a great shift. When you play a game like that in this stadium, we deserved a bit more.”
