Henrikh Mkhitaryan is set to extend his stay at AS Roma until next season, Italian media reports.
The 31-year-old joined the Serie A club for €3m loan this season, without an option to buy.
But according to Il Tempo newspaper, Roma have offered Arsenal another loan deal next season and wants to sign Mikhitaryan permanently next summer.
However, Mkhitaryan’s contract with Arsenal will be expired in June 2021, so it will be fairer if Roma offered a transfer fee inside the loan deal, to avoid from leaving the club for free.
Despite suffering from multiple injuries this season, Mkhitaryan played 20 games in all competitions and scored six goals and four assists.
