Vinicius Junior contemplating leaving Real Madrid, PSG lurking

Racially-abused Vinicius Junior is allegedly giving some serious thought to leaving Real Madrid in the summer transfer window, and PSG are said to be interested in signing him.

Brazilian outlet UOL Esporte reports that Vinicius Junior is unhappy with the prevailing state of affairs in Spain after having been the victim of racist abuse in several incidents. Hence he is seriously contemplating leaving Real Madrid in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, keeping their ears intently peeled, PSG are looking to sign the Brazilian international if he leaves the Spanish capital.

Although it did take a while to get going, 22-year-old Vinicius has been a pillar of inspiration since joining Real Madrid from Flamengo half a decade ago and has since become a world-beater in the last few seasons. Not least of all, he has also been pivotal to the Brazilian national side.

In blazing form, the player was sensational as he helped Real Madrid win the Champions League and La Liga titles last season. The current season has also seen him playing top-notch football despite Los Blancos’ patchy form, amassing 23 goals and 21 assists in 54 appearances.

However the last few weeks have been definitely a lot less than desirable for the player as insurgent fans of various clubs have directed racist abuse towards the Brazilian striker during their matches against Real Madrid – with the latest incident happening during Real Madrid’s clash with Valencia this past weekend. Understandably Vinicius’ frustrations have now boiled over, with the unhappy youngster making a series of public statements after the latest incident.

Several football legends have come out in full support of Vinicius since the latest incident while the 22-year-old is seriously contemplating his departure from Real Madrid. The situation has attracted the attention of PSG, who will look to raid Real Madrid for the 22-year-old, according to Spanish publication SPORT.

The French champions are themselves in a muddled situation over Kylian Mbappe’s long-term future as the French international is apparently still a target for Real Madrid and himself has signalled his intentions to move to the Santiago Bernabeu. It is also most likely PSG will likely part ways with Neymar and Lionel Messi in the summer transfer window, hence making Vinicius a promising, viable target for PSG.

Real Madrid are most unlikely to entertain any offers for the Brazilian attacker, considering his importance to the club. And it will be interesting to see if Real Madrid can keep Vinicius at the Bernabeu beyond the summer transfer window. For now, Vinicius remains justifiably disgruntled after facing racist abuse on numerous occasions.
