Richarlison opens up on Gunners interest amid William Saliba contract fears

The international break is on yet there is still a lot going on at Arsenal as the Gunners gear up to return to Premier League action next weekend, hopeful of retaining their lead at the top of the table.

In the meantime Tottenham’s Brazilian forward Richarlison has opened up on Arsenal’s transfer interest in his services this summer, while elsewhere fears are escalating over the future of William Saliba as the club stalls on a new deal for the defender. Meanwhile, the Gunners are listed among the clubs ‘tracking’ one of Villareal’s highly-rated players.

Richarlison has revealed Chelsea and Arsenal’s interest in signing him this summer before Tottenham moved in to seal the deal to see the Brazilian striker leaving Everton for North London in a £60million deal and he is already fast winning over Spurs fans. The Brazilian’s season could have looked very different if the Lilywhites hadn’t moved for his signature so rapidly.

Speaking whilst on international duty with Brazil, Richarlison said (via Goal):

“I know Chelsea made an offer, and I believe Arsenal also contacted Everton to ask about my situation, but Spurs came in and paid the fee, you know? It’s as simple as that. Everton had to sell some players to avoid a Financial Fair Play problem, and the negotiations were very brief, to be honest.”
