World Cup winner Raphael Varane took time off during his post-Euro 2020 summer holidays to help out a group of lucky youngsters in training at a French amateur side near his hometown of Lens.
The Real Madrid centre-back is the hot subject of speculation linked with a move to Manchester United during the summer transfer window and is currently taking some time off enjoying his summer holidays in the north of France to recover from a busy season which also saw him representing France at the recently-concluded Euro 2020.
Varane clearly has a big love for football, as indicated by his appreciation to genuinely work with the next generation of young footballers as he took some precious time off to help train youngsters at amateur side AC Cambrai, near his hometown of Lens, who play in the seventh tier of the French football pyramid.
According to Get French Football News on Twitter, the Real Madrid defender spent nearly two hours with the players in what was a special treat for the kids at the club’s academy.
Sources have told the Manchester Evening News that United are “inching closer every day” towards finalizing a deal for the 28-year-old Varane.
Allegedly discussions over personal terms have been productive and Varane expects to become a United player this summer.
As discussions with United continue to develop, there is realistic optimism that United could complete the signing of 28-year-old Varane by the end of the month as his preference is to head straight to Old Trafford after his holiday, rather than have to return to Real Madrid for their own pre-season training program.
