Tottenham striker Harry Kane has added two more goals to his Euro 2020 haul, scoring a magnificent brace for England against Ukraine to take his total for the competition to three and counting.
Kane’s two goals helped England comfortably book their place in the semi-final of Euro 2020, with a 4-0 win that sent the Ukrainian team packing for home last night.
The Three Lions skipper opened the scoring in just the fourth minute after delicately nudging home Raheem Sterling’s incisive through ball. Harry Maguire next promptly headed home a second shortly after the resumption of the second-half, before Kane again took flight and nodded in a third.
Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson added the penultimate final touch wrapping things up just minutes later with yet another splendid header off a superbly-executed Mason Mount corner.
There had been concern about Kane’s form heading into the quarter-final tie in Rome despite the skipper finally scoring against Germany in England’s 2-0 round of 16 win, which led to questions over whether Kane was being affected by transfer speculation and the hype over his future.
But with his most recent display, Kane seems to have silenced his doubters and even almost scored a hat-trick after a fantastic volleyed effort was tipped over the bar by Heorhiy Bushchan minutes before England boss Southgate replaced the Tottenham star with Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
