Real Madrid only ‘feigning interest’ in Erling Haaland due to hidden agenda

Haaland’s stunning goal-scoring form sees the young Norwegian ace being chased by many of Europe’s top clubs, but the latest indications are that Real Madrid now appears to be an unlikely destination for the striker.

Real Madrid have allegedly lost patience with Haaland’s super-agent Mino Raiola due to their past dealings and are now supposedly “feigning interest” in his client, according to the latest reports.

Haaland attracted the interest of many of Europe’s top clubs after scoring 33 goals in 32 games in all competitions for Borussia Dortmund this season.

Despite his prowess, Dortmund’s awful form has put them on the verge of missing out on the Bundesliga’s ’s top-four, which suggests the young striker means could be set to depart Signal Iduna Park this summer.

The Norwegian striker’s father and agent flew to Spain last week to initiate talks with Barcelona and Madrid and thereafter to the UK to meet up with Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea, but reports suggest that part of their efforts had been wasted, at least with one of the Spanish parties.

Eurosport now claim that the Los Blancos are only “feigning interest” in Haaland due to their previous dealings with Raiola when the club previously tried to sign two other Raiola clients, Paul Pogba and Gianluigi Donnarumma, but failed in large part because of the agent’s exorbitant demands.

Despite Haaland being one of the hottest properties in football, those past dealings with Raiola have led Madrid look to explore other options instead, with reports that their sole interest in the striker now is solely to drive up his price as their La Liga rivals, Barca, are still in deep financial trouble.

The Camp Nou have made Haaland one of their top transfer targets for the summer window in their efforts to convince their talisman Lionel Messi to stay in Barcelona.

And now it seems they may have to pay a fee much higher than expected if Madrid succeed with their hidden agenda.

Madrid’s lack of interest in Haaland certainly bdoes not mean they have abandoned their intentions of signing a young superstar this summer, except that Kylian Mbappe, and not Haaland, is top of their list.

With most of Europe’s top clubs chasing Haaland, Eurosport report that Madrid view a pursuit of the 20-year-old as being potentially costly when compared to signing Paris Saint-Germain star Mbappe.
