Frank Lampard told about his new Chelsea undroppable after win over Leeds United

Chelsea emerged clear 3-1 winners over Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday night, with Frenchman Olivier Giroud continuing with his impressive form, prompting Match of the Day pundit Danny Murphy to label the striker as being currently ‘undroppable’ on his current form.

Giroud inspired the Blues to another victory fresh from scoring all four goals in the midweek Champions League win at Sevilla as he continued his defiant streak in front of goal in the immaculate 3-1 win over Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday night.

Despite conceding early on at Stamford Bridge, Lampard’s boys in blue retaliated with Giroud grabbing the equaliser on 27 minutes of play. Second-half goals by Kurt Zouma and Christian Pulisic reinforced Chelsea as the resounding winners over the newly-promoted Whites and the victory saw them move to the top of the league table ahead of Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham.

34-year-old Giroud stole the headline post match, netting his 12th goal in 19 appearances for club and country this season. Murphy opined that the France international should now be a regular in the Blues’ line-up moving forward.

“Frank was right to mention Leeds’ qualities but Giroud deserves all the credit in the world,” explained the pundit.

“He’s not underrated by me or people that know football – if you play the game at the top level you know how important a striker like he is to the team. He’s a focal point.

“He nearly scored early on with the first header, I don’t know how Timo Werner kept that out. He looked so up for it, he’s full of confidence after midweek and all good strikers gamble on space. It was a superb finish.

“Game awareness as well, knowing where people are running, and his strength and presence. Everything about his performance says keep me in the team.”
