Gareth Bale makes Tottenham Hotspur silverware admission spurring fans to great delight

Tottenham sealed Gareth Bale’s return to the club on Saturday evening with Gareth Bale has expressing his delight at sealing a return to his former club, insisting that it “feels great to be back,” as well as setting his sights on helping the club win silverware once again.

Spurs made their move to try and re-sign the Welsh international earlier this week and officially confirmed his return on Saturday evening, announcing that he had returned to the club on a season-long loan.

Bale’s return to the Premier League comes a little over seven years after he left Spurs to join Real Madrid, a move that for the most part worked out excellently.

Having fallen out of favor under Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, Bale now has the opportunity to resurrect his career with a club he knows inside out, and prior to Spurs’ Premier League match with Southampton at St Mary’s, the Welshman has admitted that he is delighted to be back at a club where he feels appreciated.

“It feels great to be back. I’ve had a warm welcome,” Bale said in an interview with BT Sport’s  Peter Crouch.

“It’s nice to be back in an environment where I’m loved. When you feel that love you can play your best football.

“Hopefully now we can kick on this season and try and win a trophy if not two.

“I’m a mature person who has grown up. I understand my game more and it’s evolved. I still have my pace.

“I enjoyed my time there. The highs were very high and the lows were there. It’s time for the next chapter in my career.

“There will be pressure and expectation. I feel like when I’m happy, I play my best football.

“He (Mourinho) spoke to me about a few positions he would like me to play.”

Everybody deserves a second chance. Let’s look ahead and wait with bated breath for this once scintillating star to crank it all up again in style.
