Kylian Mbappe considering signing new PSG deal

Kylian Mbappe is reportedly considering signing a new £600,000-per-week deal with PSG that would almost double his wages and put him in the same pay bracket as Neymar, according to latest report from France.

Mbappe has been hotly linked with a move to either Real Madrid or Liverpool, with the former being a more likely bet as the Reds are no longer expected to make any big signings this summer having to juggle their finances contending with the financial impact of the pandemic.

Madrid on the other hand are said to be stepping up their pursuit of the French star French, who has scored 90 in 120 appearances for Paris-Saint Germain since joining the French club from Monaco in 2017.

However, PSG, forced to show their hand in this high stakes poker game, last week displayed their determination to keep their 21-year-old forward and have offered him a deal that would firmly estaablish him in the same echelon as teammate Neymar, according to L’Equipe .

This could well be the coup de grace to put paid to Mbappe’s plans to move as clubs are not expected to be able to afford huge sums like that in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak which has brought football to a halt across Europe.

PSG had paid £166m to sign Mbappe in August 2017 and would not be desirous of selling him for less than his market value, so in a bid to discourage suitors and also to convince him to stay they have offered him an irresistible new deal putting him on par with Ligue 1’s top earner Neymar.

Mbappe, contracted to PSG until 2022, scored 18 goals in 20 Ligue 1 matches this season with his side crowned the eventual champions, as the campaign was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.
