Liverpool ditch Nike to confirm huge new £300m kit deal

Liverpool FC has confirmed a significant shift in their kit supplier, moving from Nike to Adidas in a multi-year deal that begins on August 1, 2025. This partnership marks the third time Adidas will be the official kit supplier for Liverpool, following previous collaborations from 1985 to 1996 and again from 2006 to 2012.

The new deal is reportedly worth more than £60 million annually, surpassing the previous agreement with Nike, which included a flat fee of £30 million plus royalties that brought the total to over £60 million per year. Although the exact duration of the contract is not officially disclosed, British media reports suggest it could be a five-year agreement.

Billy Hogan, Liverpool’s CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the return of Adidas, highlighting the shared ambition for success and the creation of iconic kits that have been synonymous with Liverpool’s past achievements. Adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden also emphasized the excitement about teaming up with one of the biggest names in football, aiming to create more classics for the fans.

Liverpool will continue to wear Nike kits during the early part of their 2025 pre-season, as the Adidas partnership officially starts in August. The club is expected to unveil the new Adidas kits through their channels, with sales commencing on August 1, 2025.

This deal aligns with other major Premier League clubs in terms of annual value but falls short of Manchester United’s record-breaking £90 million per year contract with Adidas. Despite this, the partnership is seen as a significant financial boost for Liverpool, reflecting the club’s ambition to maintain its competitive edge both on and off the pitch.
