Pundit claims Bellingham is better than Gerrard, Lampard and Scholes were when they were his age

Liverpool target Jude Bellingham is already beginning to sparkle as a bright new gem in his first-ever World Cup game as England trounced Iran 6-2, and Manchester United legend and now pundit Rio Ferdinand has ventured as far as to say that the young lad is already better than some of England’s greatest ever midfielders such as Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Paul Scholes and Paul Gascoigne were at his young age.

The 19-year-old was the first to launch an offensive to successfully fire the Three Lions into a lead in the 35th minute when his incredible header made its mark on football’s grandest international stage.

To make that possible, the £130 million-rated starlet (SPORT) beguiled two defenders to cue in Harry Kane who subsequently teed up Raheem Sterling’s strike. And when Jack Grealish came off the bench, the pre-assist for the Manchester City star’s 6th and final goal for the Three Lions came via a sublime pass executed by none other than the Borussia Dortmund star himself.

With his debut performance even this early in the World Cup, it would be no surprise should Bellingham become one of the most sought-after players in the January transfer window.

His debut World Cup performance has been so captivating that Rio Ferdinand was inspired to boldly declare that the Borussia Dortmund talisman is superior to some of England’s best-ever midfielders when they were at his age, as per his official YouTube channel.

“We’ve had great midfielders play for England in our generation down the years. The [Paul] Scholes’, the [Steven] Gerrard’s, the [Frank] Lampard’s, to name three. [Paul] Gascoigne etc.”

Ferdinand went on to say, “None of those guys, I’m going to look in the camera, were doing what Jude Bellingham is doing at this age on the world stage. None of them.”

“This kid’s [Jude Bellingham] playing Champions League football, he’s doing everything. I’m not saying he’s going to be better than them. But right now, at this age, he’s doing what none of them have done. He’s ahead.”
