Erling Haaland and the ‘five girlfriends’ he slept with every night that were his key to success

Erling Haaland once did truly admit that he sleeps with his five girlfriends every night and also insisted they were the key to his goalscoring record – but there’s more to it than meets the eye, as things turned out.

Europe’s hottest prospect on the pitch finally laid bare the fascinating details about his nightly tryst with his ‘five girlfriends’, sleeping in the past with them every night. Apparently things weren’t what they seemed as the young Norwegian striker that every club in the world would certainly love to get their clutches on playfully admitted the ‘girlfriends’ in question are actually the five balls that were used in the scoring of his first hat-tricks when he was then still at Red Bull Salzburg and was just starting to make a name for himself in Europe.

The strapping young football hunk told Norwegian outlet Dagblade: “I sleep with the five balls for each hat-trick I have scored. I lie in bed and I feel good with them. I look at them every day. They are my girlfriends.”

On a more serious tone, Manchester City finally announced that they had reached an agreement with the youngster’s club Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday afternoon, with the announcement reading:

“The transfer remains subject to the Club finalising terms with the player.”

City boss Pep Guardiola’s side did not hesitate to trigger Haaland’s release clause that came into effect this summer as the dynamic lightning rod on the pitch has been one of Europe’s most potent strikers over the past couple of years in Germany, boasting an incredible 61 goals in 66 outings in the Bundesliga itself.

Besides the Etihad outfit, numerous top-flight European clubs had also been interested in trying to sign Haaland with Real Madrid one of the hopeful aspirants to tempt him to Spanish shores, apart from Barcelona, but the Norwegian finally opted for City.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Haaland chose the sky blue half of the city of Manchester due to his ‘lifelong’ connection with the side and the irresistible opportunity to work alongside Guardiola and players such as Kevin De Bruyne.
