Former striker Jason Cundy has urged Paris Saint-Germain to sell Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid and go all out for Harry Kane.
talkSPORT understands the Madridistas as have offered £160m for Mbappe, who has allegedly told PSG he wants to leave this summer despite conflicting reports from club sources that he will be staying put this summer.
The Ligue 1 giants obviously hope to keep their 22-year-old sensation, but risk losing one of the most valuable players in the world for nothing next year on his Bosman status with less than a year left on his contract meaning that Madrid could negotiate a pre-contract agreement with the France superstar in January for a free transfer next July.
Cundy said: “If you’re getting offered this money for a player who has less than a year on his contract, and you turn that down, that makes no business sense.
“He’s going to leave, he’s going to dig his heels in, and the relationship between the pair looks like it could break down completely.”
Apparently Madrid have timed their offer so PSG can shop for a replacement, with one week of the transfer window remaining.
Kane’s desire to leave Tottenham is already widely known, but Manchester City’s reluctance to meet the England captain’s £150m price tag looks set to continue, hence giving PSG a timely shot at the world-class forward, with the funds readily available to splash £150m on Kane.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would understandably be a lot more willing to do business with a foreign club to prevent his star player joining an English rival.
As for Kane, while he has spoken of his desire to stay in the Premier League, the chance to play alongside Lionel Messi and Neymar – plus a host of other high-profile stars – could prove an irresistible temptation.
Cundy added: “PSG should take the money and they should sign Kane.
“If they want to go and sign someone now, they really want to replace him, Kane is as good as anyone they can get right now.
“The only problem is whether Kane wants to go to PSG.”
