Spaniard can move to Barcelona ‘without any financial compensation’

Despite all the turbulence and dram shrouding the club since he took over at Camp Nou, Ronald Koeman is finally heaving a huge sigh of relief at Barcelona.

Joan Laporta, the club’s new president, had not earlier aligned himself to a specific managerial target prior to his ascension as the new President and has given the impression at his recent inauguration that Koeman will be allowed an opportunity to succeed in his role, expressing publicly the confidence that both him and the club have in him at present.

Should things not go well then it’s inevitable that rumors will start escalating again, which would be when it’s also inevitable that Xavi Hernandez will be linked with the role.

Thursday’s edition of Sport reports Xavi is now on the brink of renewing his deal as manager of Al-Sadd. He’s been with the Qatari club for six years, having begun first as a player and then moving into his role as manager and gaining experience in his new managerial role.

It’s open knowledge that both parties are happy with one another, and according to Sport there will continue to be a clause in the new deal – one that  allows Xavi to move to Barcelona whenever he wants.

The Catalan newspaper say everyone knows that, sooner or later, Xavi will be in charge at Barcelona, and the clause means he’d move back to Spain ‘without any financial compensation’ even if it means breaking his contract at Al-Sadd.
