PSG’s Brazilian superstar Neymar trained his sniper’s rifle at the Barcelona presidential candidates who have been blowing hot and cold in their disputes over whether he should return to the Camp Nou or not, using him as part of their propaganda and narrative to win January’s election.
The Brazilian fired his first salvo, speaking about his future after helping Paris Saint-Germain into the knockout stages of the Champions League with a thumping 5-1 win over Istanbul Basaksehir.
“I am very happy here in Paris. I am very happy at the club, with my teammates.
“The idea of leaving does not cross my mind. We have to discuss. We have a very good relationship and see what will happen in the future.”
Neymar magnificent hat-trick helped push PSG easily through as group winners, with the likelihood of facing Barcelona in the knockout stages with the draw set to take place on Monday.
PSG president Nasser al-Khelaifi also spoke to RMC, emanating confidence that Neymar and Kylian Mbappe would be staying in France.
“We have begun to talk with Neymar and Kylian Mbappé, the discussions will remain confidential but I am very confident. They both want to stay with us at PSG.”
Neymar’s hat-trick is the third he has scored in his career in the Champions League, while he’s also become the only player to reach 20 Champions League goals for two different teams.
