Manchester United fans have been happily stirred up by Mason Greenwood as they continue to monitor Real Madrid full-back Sergio Reguilon as they look to strengthen their side in the summer transfer window.
Old Trafford made their first summer acquisition earlier in the week after officially confirming the arrival of Donny van de beek from Ajax, and now fans are hungry for even more signings.
Although Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho remains the ongoing priority to bolster the United attacking line, the club is nonetheless eager to bolster their defensive line too, with Real Madrid left-back Reguilon is one such player of interest and MEN Sport reported earlier in the week United are monitoring the defender amid uncertainty over their full-back situation.
David de Gea got the fans ecstatic when he uploaded a picture with Reguilon to his Instagram page on Saturday, and now Greenwood has done the same thing as he was spotted ‘following’ the left-back on social media.
Keen-eyed fans following the social media stream noticed Greenwood and Reguilon had recently exchanged ‘follows’ on Instagram, which naturally sent supporters ecstatically into overdrive ahead of a possible summer transfer.
United had earlier decided in November against moving for a left-back due to the emergence of Brandon Williams, having shown interest in Ben Chilwell prior to his £50million move to Chelsea. Williams, 20, started 25 times in his breakthrough season and signed a new four-year contract in August.
Luke Shaw excelled in the second half of last season until he sustained an ankle injury against Southampton and Williams was criticised by some for his performances in the run-in.
