Barcelona in dilemma as Rodrigo Moreno will not join the Catalan

Barcelona have made a surprise decision to end the negotiations with Valencia to sign Spanish forward Rodrigo Moreno, Catalan media reports.

During the talks, Barcelona want to sign the 28-year-old for a a six-month loan deal with no obligation to make the deal permanent in the summer, just enough time for Luis Suarez to recover from injury.

But Valencia want Barcelona to pay €60 million for the player.

As a replacement, super agent Jorge Mendes offers Sporting CP midfielder Bruno Fernandes to Barcelona who will then go on loan to Valencia.

That offer tempted Valencia and Rodrigo would have been free to move to the Camp Nou on loan.

Unfortunately the Portuguese midfielder is now close to joining Manchester United with a fee around €80m.

Barcelona finally decided to end the negotiations since Valencia are unwilling to let their striker leave for only a loan fee in the middle of the season and Barca not prepared to pay €60m for a player who is only a short-term replacement

New reports emerged that Barca are looking to sign Ajax forward Dusan Tadic on a six-month loan deal.
