Lionel Messi have scored 50 goals this year, yet he always remembered the time when he couldn’t a score a goal every time he plays.
The 32-year-old Argentine cherishes his goalscoring record this year, but he was one goal short compared to last year when he scored goals in all competition.
“I remember many times that Eto’o told me: “The day you start to score goals is going to be…” because there were many chances but I couldn’t convert them,” he said during an interview by FC Barcelona official.
“One day I scored and then they all started to go in.
Because of the piece of advice from Eto’o who played for Barcelona on 2004 until 2009, Messi believes he shouldn’t just focused solely on scoring on his own.
“Every time I go out on the pitch I am less focused on the goal and more on the game.
“Being the top scorer in the league is special, and is one of the most beautiful records I have.”
