Agent Damir Smoljan claims that his client Manchester City winger Leroy Sane is still interested to move to Bayern Munich this summer.
The 24-year-old almost joined the Bundesliga champion last summer but was put on hold after suffering from cruciate knee ligament during the Community Shield match against Liverpool at Wembley, thus ruling him out from playing this season.
Before the injury, reports said Bayern is willing to pay €100 million to sign Sane.
Understandably, Bayern want Sane since both of their super wingers Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery retired at the end of last season.
Bayern have so far relied on Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman and Alphonso Davies.
“The interest of FC Bayern is no secret, but other very big European teams have already contacted us about Leroy,” Sane’s agent Damir Smoljan told magazine Sport Bild.
“But FC Bayern is the only club in Germany that Leroy can see as the next step in his career.
“He believes the conditions are right there for him to achieve his ultimate goal: winning the Champions League.”
Sane rose to prominence with Schalke 04, before he signed with Manchester City in 2017, as he helped Pep Guardiola won two consecutive Premier League titles.
Last month, Sane admitted the devastating injury was the “longest and hardest” of his career, describing the road to recovery as both mentally and physically gruelling.
Sane returned to training and played a game for City’s reserves in March before the Premier League fixtures were suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
