Despite being sacked after only one and half year in charge, Unai Emery believes Mikel Arteta will succeed at Arsenal.
Arteta has just been confirmed to be the new Arsenal manager, after three years working as assistant manager at Manchester City.
“He really is prepared to make that next jump,” said Emery to BBC.
“He has been at Arsenal before, he’s been in the Premier League and he has been working with Pep Guardiola. I do believe this is a good decision and I would also like it to be a good decision.”
Arteta has a huge task to convince players to stay, after poor league form and lack of direction prompted the likes of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Granit Xhaka wanted to leave the club in the summer.
