Frank Lampard plotting return to management in Premier League

Frank Lampard is allegedly plotting his return to Premier League management barely two months after being sacked by Everton and is said to be keenly monitoring upcoming developments in the league.

The former Blues star and manager could soon be back in the Premier League next season as he is supposedly on the lookout for an opening, after having creditably led Chelsea to a fourth-place finish before being ruthlessly dismissed by Roman Abramovich the following season, after which he successfully kept Everton in the Premier League before a miserable start to the current campaign saw him being shown the exit.

Determined not to be cowed by his recent experiences, the former England midfielder is now optimistically keeping a keen eye on potential vacancies as numerous clubs seem to be struggling, notably Crystal Palace – despite Roy Hodgson filling in till the end of the season – and Leicester, among others, according to The Sun.

Tottenham and Southampton’s managerial situations also currently look pretty shaky and could need addressing soon, which could augur well for Lampard.

Earlier this week, Lampard’s former Everton assistant and Chelsea team-mate Ashley Cole spoke about their time at the club – and why things might’ve gone south.

He said in the Mail: “Frank would have had a lot of challenges that us, as coaches, weren’t aware of and stuff that was above us. How he has to manage up and manage the staff around him, of course it’s going to be difficult.

“Maybe it was a transitional period for the club, (so) it was always going to be hard.

“It’s a humungous club. We wanted to do better for the club, but was it just that we were there are the wrong time?”

Lampard himself admitted at the time: “Coming in to Everton last year I knew we were in a tough moment and I will always be proud of the incredible work and support from everyone involved to keep the team in the Premier League last season.

“Thanks to everybody that played their part as the whole club came together. I will never forget the incredible night against Palace that we shared. I want to thank all Evertonians for the welcome that you gave to myself, my staff, and my family.

“It truly is a special club with a huge heart, and an incredible history. I’m disappointed that we couldn’t achieve more together and wish all the players and everyone at Everton FC the very best for the future.”
