Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hails ‘incredible’ Tottenham after Antonio Conte turnaround

Jurgen Klopp has hailed Antonio Conte’s turnaround of Tottenham as “incredible” despite Spurs having been temporarily brought back down to earth with a surprise loss at home to Brighton to keep the top four battle between themselves, Arsenal and Manchester United on. The recent upset aside, few would be foolish enough to doubt the level of Conte’s impact.

As it stands, Tottenham are still in the lead the race to qualify for the fourth spot in next season’s Champions League, definitely a remarkable feat considering the messy situation Conte had walked into upon replacing his predecessor Nuno Espirito Santo in October.

Tottenham will be traveling to Anfield in the reverse of December’s pulsating 2-2 draw in north London, a vital game both sides can’t afford to lose.

Understandably, taking into consideration the events of the 2018/19 season when both the titans Liverpool and Manchester City won every game available to them in the hotly-contested title race, many are expecting a similar end to the season this time around.

Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s game with Manchester United on Tuesday, Klopp said: “If you are [fifth] in the Premier League it means you are a quality side.

“Because with all the opponents you have, it’s madness how consistent you have to be to get somehow close to that area. You see Tottenham flying in the moment and then get a little drop [at the weekend], but the quality they have is incredible.”
