Cristiano Ronaldo’s presence at Manchester United has allegedly led to unease and discontent in the Old Trafford dressing room, according to reports, with team-mates concerned over his influence.
Sportsmail revealed last night that manager Ralf Rangnick’s dressing room is divided, with players having split into cliques amid an ‘oppressive’ atmosphere.
Superstar Ronaldo made a sensational homecoming in the summer, but has been accused of stunting his side’s style of play instead of complimenting it.
They have added that Harry Maguire, Edinson Cavani and Mason Greenwood have taken issue with Ronaldo’s constant minutes, despite his number of poor showings.
Furthermore, it is said that some of his team-mates believe the former Real Madrid and Juventus frontman is causing problems for their own roles.
After the defeat by Wolves, dismayed full back Luke Shaw openly admitted that United’s squad is not ‘together’, and accused them of lacking commitment.
A contributing factor to this may be the small band Ronaldo has formed with other Portuguese speakers, a potential clique in a divided cohort.
This is a group which includes Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, Fred and Alex Telles.
Other reports have suggested as many as 11 players want to quit the club, with a source telling The Mirror.
