Mino Raiola teases Man Utd and other suitors with update of where striker could be headed

Erling Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola has teased several of Europe’s biggest clubs about his client’s future by claiming he has a “clear idea” about the Norwegian’s destination next year

Controversial and oft-abrasive super-agent Mino Raiola has revealed he has “clear ideas” about which club his client Erling Braut Haaland will move to next year.

The 21-year-old has rapidly evolved into one of the world’s most highly-sought players since his 2020 move from RB Salzburg to Borussia Dortmund, where he has gone on to net a sensational 74 goals in 72 appearances, in the process attracting the attention of Europe’s elite clubs, some of whom were rebuffed in their attempts to sign him in the summer despite bidding well over £100-million. However, a release clause in the striker’s Dortmund contract assures his availability for much cheaper in 2022, which would provide Raiola and Haaland wider scope and choice with regards to his next destination.

The super-agent – not one to be shy of thumping his chest and who also has stars like Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in his portfolio – recently trumpeted that he would use Haaland’s popularity to “influence the market.”

Speaking to SPORT1, Raiola said: “We have been thinking about his future for two years.

“We have clear ideas about where he should go and, of course, we look at what the market will offer.

“With a player like him, we can influence the market, we will not be influenced.

“I changed the transfer market and today we agents have created a new game alongside football: the transfer market.

“Today two days a week we talk about football, in the other five about the transfer market.”

Both the Manchester clubs have been heavily linked with the player over the past two years, especially with recent news circling that the new United gaffer Ralf Ragnick could wrangle the deal to rope in the Norwegian wunderkind as the former was the man responsible for signing Haaland for Salzburg. However, Rangnick was quick to play down the idea that he was given the task of signing him when he took on the mantle as the Red Devils manager.

Rangnick said: “This is nonsense obviously, just to answer the second question. Of course, there are no such clauses.”

Meanwhile, City manager Pep Guardiola is also known to be keen on bringing the Norwegian to the Etihad in the summer, despite having a bristly relationship with Raiola in the past.
