Liverpool most valuable squad in the world!

According to the Sun newspaper, Liverpool emerged top of the world charts in terms of the value of their players. The figures have been calculated by CIES Football Observatory, who take into account the age of the players, form, the length of contract remaining and their international status.

And they have determined that Liverpool – who have reached back-to-back Champions League finals prior to this season – are worth the most.

With the Reds blasting away Manchester City in the fight for the Premier League title this campaign, Liverpool have also edged the blue team of Manchester to top spot.

Pep Guardiola’s side are second in the list, 30 million behind, as they worth an incredible £1.24bn – with Barcelona and Real Madrid finishing third and fourth respectively.

A statement from CIES said of the Blues: “(Chelsea’s valuation) has strongly increased thanks to the outbreak of many young talents following the transfer ban imposed by FIFA to the London club.”

The likes of Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and Reece James have enjoyed breakthrough seasons at the club.

Manchester United then come in sixth with the club worth the same amount as the West Londoners, with Paris Saint-Germain seventh with their squad’s value estimated at £890m.

Les Parisiens boast the most expensive player in world football according to CIES, as they value French World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe at a staggering £227m.
