Achraf Hakimi has been exceeding expectations in the past two seasons playing on-loan at Borussia Dortmund, sparking interests from major European clubs.
But his agent, Alejandro Camano said Hakimi is only interested to return to his parent club Real Madrid and wants to prove himself.
“He will link back up with Real Madrid when the season finishes,” Camano told Onda Madrid.
“We’ll see what happens after that.
“He wants to play games, like this season, where he has started every match. There’s no rush. His only aspiration is to play games to help his development.
“There’s a magnificent dialogue with Real Madrid and they always expect to have him on their radar and what we don’t want is to distance ourselves from them too much.
“So, we’ll reach an agreement of some sort over whether he stays or goes, but without forgetting that the aim is to play for Real Madrid one day because, for him, it’s the best club in the world.”
“It could be a short wait if Real Madrid offer him to stay now or a long wait if he doesn’t stay, but the aim is always the same – end up [playing for] the best club in the world.”
The 21-year-old full-back joined Real Madrid youth team, Castilla in 2016 and promoted to the first team in 2017, becoming a back-up for Dani Carvajal and Nacho.
Zinedine Zidane handed him a La Liga debut on Oct 1, helping his team won 2-0 over Espanyol.
He also made two appearances in Champions League, as Real Madrid won their third consecutive title and 13th overall.
However, since Zidane left the club, Hakimi lost his place and Real subsequently loaned him to Dortmund for two seasons.
Under the leadership of new Dortmund manager, Lucien Favre developed a 3-4-3 formation which helps Hakimi flourished in a slightly advanced role in right back position, as he act as winger and defender at the same time.
His consistent performance earned him a huge trust from Favre, as Hakimi has the most appearances this season with 40 games in all competitions, more than goalkeeper Roman Burki, more than any other defender and more than Dortmund most coveted player, Jadon Sancho.
Hakimi’s consistency and his high fitness rate would be appreciated and valued by Zidane, as Real are seeking to replace Carvajal for the next season.
