After their unexpected crash in the Coupe de France, Paris Saint-Germain appears to have gone into disaster-control mode and are allegedly ready to make drastic changes as they are being rudely awakened from their complacency.
A recent report has intimated that Mauricio Pochettino has become unenamored of the club and is desirous of making a departure as soon as he can wing it. And, unsurprisingly, both parties seem to be mutually agreeable to a parting of ways after the season.
Foot Mercato is carrying the report that Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Sheikh Tamim ben Hamad Al Thani believe former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane to be the only one who can restore order at the French capital cluband that the capital club is prepared to offer Zidane a colossal salary to assume the reins of managerial control at the Parc des Princes.
As far as the wages are concerned, the figure is believed to be well above Mauricio Pochettino’s current pay grade (€8-million net per year) and even Zidane’s last contractual wages with Real Madrid during his second stint (€12-million net per year).
And the icing on the cake apparently is that PSG isn’t only willing to give the French tactician this humongous contract, but they’re even most prepared to hand him all the power at the sporting level too, with Foot Mercato speculating that if Zidane takes over, he will be working alongside former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger to support him on this project and replace current sporting director, Leonardo.
