Inter Milan are expecting Barcelona’s Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal to join the club next week, after his contract is terminated with Barcelona, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 33-year-old Chilean has been told by new coach Ronald Koeman that he is ‘surplus to requirements’in the club’s project and so will have his contract terminated by mutual consent on Monday, with one year remaining on the deal. An agreement between player and club regarding compensation is close and expected to be finalised by early next week.
The report continues that after Vidal’s signing with Inter, the next target is Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante. The 29-year-old Frenchman is valued at around €50 million by the Blues and so the Nerazzurri will either need to sell one or two important players, or many of the unneeded players like Joao Mario and Ivan Perisic.
