Jadon Sancho breaks silence and hints his future is at Borussia Dortmund

Jadon Sancho has broken his silence on his widely-touted Manchester United move and hinted that his long-term future may lie with Borussia Dortmund.

Despite the England international remaining a top target for the Old Trafford hierarchy, it appears the deal may be slipping away with the ongoing saga having taken a fresh twist as Borussia Dortmund’s deadline of August 10 passed on Monday and sporting director Michael Zorc has been quoted saying that the 20-year-old will not be leaving the club

Sancho had played 45 minutes against Altach in a 6-0 win as the German club started their pre-season in Switzerland and looked as impressive as ever alongside his teammates.

Although just a friendly match, the winger was interviewed after the game and spoke warmly about the ‘special’ squad and revealed his desire to become a leader in the dressing room.

“I love playing with this lot,” Sancho declared. “It is a special bunch.

“We’ve got some special young players coming up. I am really happy to share the pitch with them and guide them.

“I was once in their shoes, playing with the seniors. I am happy for them.

“I joined when I was 17. Some of the lads are the same age.

“I’ve been there and done that. I can guide them in what’s good and what isn’t. I can hopefully motivate them as well.”

Cutting through the clutter emanating from both Sancho and Dortmund, talkSPORT pundit Clinton Morrison is convinced the transfer will go through before the October 5 deadline.

Speaking on Wednesday’s White and Sawyer, the former Premier League ace said:

“I’m not really about players handing in transfer requests…

“But the club [Borussia Dortmund], they will know if he wants to move. He’ll go to them and say, ‘I want to move’, his agent will be speaking to them… I think eventually the deal will happen.

“It might go to the last couple of days or even the last day of the window, but I do believe Jadon Sancho will be a Man United player.

“Who wouldn’t want to go to Man United?”
