Xavi declares he wants “to return to Barça after the elections next season’

Xavi Hernandez has expressedly stated that his dream is to return to Barcelona as a coach, and explained why he had to turn down the offer in January made by the club despite even Messi urging him to come on board.

“The club approached me in January, but the timing and circumstances weren’t right for me. I want to return at a time where I can start my project from scratch. I am a club person and I would like to be able to make decisions for Barcelona.

“The biggest dream I have now is to become the Barça coach and return there to succeed,” said the former Barça midfielder.

Xavi also let the cst out of the bag saying that his technical team are already working hard in their preparations gettting ready to train Barça, and plans to return to the Camp Nou after the club elections.

“My technical staff are preparing a lot for Barça. Ideally, I would like to return after the elections.”

Current club president Bartomeu in insistent on remaining as the incumbent until 2021, with no indication at this juncture as yet regarding who would most likely be taking over. What is known however is that the doors have been kept open for Xavi, which means he is most likely to be the next Barca coach when Setien’s tenure is over, which could be anytime depending on how the club fares this season in the hotly-contensted race between the Blaugrana and the Los Blancos.

Of course, there’s also new circulating in the grapevine all this while that Barca are also hopeful of luring their previous golden coach and manger, Pep Guardiola, back to Camp Nou.

That should be very interesting.
