COVID-19: Francisco Garcia the first death in football

A heartbreaking moment in football as coach Francisco Garcia died at the age of 21 after contracted with COVID-19.

He was tested positive last week, having been sent to the Regional Hospital of Malaga for treatment.

Upon his arrival at the hospital, Garcia was found to be suffering from a form of leukaemia which made him more vulnerable to the virus.

The Spaniards has been the youth manager for Malaga-based club Atletico Portada Alta since 2016.

Garcia is the youngest person to have died from coronavirus to date, with the death rate at its highest among those over the age of 70.
