Manchester United is reportedly considering Thomas Frank as a potential replacement for Ruben Amorim

Just a year after INEOS’s investment, Manchester United’s performance has declined, marked by poor managerial decisions and squad planning. Despite a historically bad Premier League finish under Erik ten Hag, he was initially retained. However, following a disastrous start to the season, INEOS replaced Ten Hag with Ruben Amorim. Contrary to expectations, the team’s performance has seemingly worsened under Amorim, leading to doubts about his long-term suitability.

With question marks surrounding Amorim’s future, reports indicate that Manchester United is exploring potential replacements. Fichajes suggests that the United board is questioning Amorim’s ability to lead the team and is considering alternatives. Thomas Frank, the Brentford manager, is reportedly a leading candidate and “could take the reins” if United does not improve soon.

Frank was previously considered for the position before Amorim’s appointment. Dan Ashworth, the former sporting director, also favored Frank. However, key figures within the club opted for Amorim, and Ashworth subsequently left his role, further highlighting INEOS’s perceived mismanagement.
